Blue Diamond is a place i didn't even know existed though i'm sure it's been their for at lest ten years. That's what happens when you spend to much time lurking around in alleyways and not looking skyward. This place is some what of a faded jewel, sort of like when i went to the Hilton Mirage in Port Douglas and thought this would have been luxury in the early 90's
That said this place is probably better now because you can actually go on a day like Thursday and it's not packed to the gills. It's a very big space, with red velvet carpets, leather seats, very classy decor and great staff. The best feature is the view. It has a truly incredible 180 panorama of Melbourne which i well worth a drink on it's own. Seriously come here instead of eureka sky deck!
This is a cocktail bar and the staff know exactly what they are doing and there is always a lot of them on hand so waiting times aren't that long. It's also a cigar bar. They have little display cases of the cigars you can buy and they have a great smoking area that spans the entire outside of the bar.
Apparently this place gets quite lively on Fridays and Saturdays and i'll head back and give the update. Personally if i was all dressed up and wanted to go somewhere like spice market or god forbid silk road i'd come here instead. At least you can talk on the balcony while soaking up the view.
