The lounge has been operating in Melbourne form more than 20 years. During that time it's changed a lot. Most recently they have done so much to turn if from a band room into a great little bar with a welcoming atmosphere and very good food.
The major overhaul other than the decor which is now a lot more relaxed and inviting is the addition of the kitchen. They are running dinners and lunches and have specials every day which you can see on the website. The other great feature other than they do still host live music and good dj's on a nightly basis is the balcony. With views out to Lonsdale st, it's large enough you can sit enjoy a drink and a smoke or just soak up the sun if it's out.
Given it's location and that it's been standing for so long the lounge always attracts a good crowd of locals as well as travelers and backpacker, which always makes it fun. The staff are friendly and relaxed but sometimes the security can be a little over eager.
If your looking for a great sunday session place when the sun comes back out, or a late night place that will still be humming this is a good place to add to your map.
