AER bar is the rooftop part of the European Bier cafe on Lonsdale st, and in my mind the very best part of the entire venue. It's one of the only rooftop bars i've ever seen that actually has an open fire place and a million and one little heaters. It's also has a retracting roof so you can still soak up the views when the weather suck.





This is a very nice, big open space but it does fill up a lot after work, especially on sunny days when you want to drink, smoke and talk easily in the Melbourne sun shine. They have a very extensive food menu as the service from European travels up the stairs and onto your table. They do classic pub meals at good prices but also get creative. Check their website for the full menu. They are also open for lunch.



Look if you're friends try drag you to the European which ends up happening to me about once a week, just go along and come up to AER bar! you can spend some time up here, have a few drink and then go down to the dance floor and skank around to a cover band as much as your idiot friends want you to.

 This is a great city rooftop bar, good views, easy going staff and nice relaxed decor. If you're looking for a pint after work and you're a city dweller give this a look.
