Lanes edge

This has got to be one of my favourite places in the city and is classic Melbourne. A small venue with two different outside seating options, five dollar bottled beers all the time and a great menu of snack and meals that are well priced as well. You can have a nice after work drink with your girl here and not break the budget at all.

The rear courtyard is the feature it's like entering a dim lit garden party with fairy lights and small tables you can easily hold hands over. It's the perfect place to take someone to have a proper chat and the crowd is always relaxed and in their own worlds but happy. Clearly it's very smoking friendly but if you want to avoid that just hid inside. Now winter is here they have brought out the table side heaters but you still want to rug up so you can enjoy the stiff Melbourne breeze. This place is. Great first stop on a bar crawl as you can get a little tipsy on cheap drinks, have some pizza or wedges and then move on to the more expensive places up the street.

This is one of my fave joint in Melbourne now I'm in a couple because it's a great place to talk and you can afford to come here a few nights a week. Rather than sitting at home and watching breaking bad take your partner out and actually spend some quality time with them. Plus after. Few beers or dark and stories you'll be feeling a lot more frisky that three hours of Netflix.

If you're feeling in the mood to people watch sit on the seat on Bourke at and see all the Melbourne life go past and have fun laughing at the under dressed idiots in the Melbourne cold as you enjoy a nice mulled cider.
