Catfish

Catfish is a great little bar just at the end of Gertrude at near the corner of Nicholson or the Melbourne exhibitions gardens. When the Melbourne winter starts to ruin your weekend picnics it.s time to start hitting the bars again and this one is great for a lazy weekend drink or cool night out. Catfish isn't huge but the Decor is cool and they have lots of area as to make use of. Warm inside part near bar. Good sunny outside smoking area with tables and chairs and relaxed upstairs band room.

They are kind of a craft beer place with over ten beers on tap and they know their way around an ipa. That being said prices on drinks are more than reasonable, even for a dark and stormy. They have a great kitchen that's it's own little business that does Philly cheese steaks. This things are amazing, if a calorie explosion and for 20 you can get on, chips and a pint so it's good.

The catfish is also good for live music and they have a good range of free shows. If you like swampy blues with an intimate crowd come here. Right now Monday's are their half priced nights but just check their Facebook for specials and free gigs. Some of the bands that okay here are great. Finally the staff are just what you want in a place like this. Friendly and sociable they'll remember you and your drink order even if you only come here once a week.oh and they have a pet catfish behind the bar which is cool.
